RELIGION:
We will be focusing on how God is revealed to us. A large focus will also be placed on the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the lives of Saints. We will be taking these areas and learning how to apply them to our own lives. |

SCIENCE:
We will be learning about the Rainforest, the Sun, animals and the environment. The students will be doing many hands on experiments to help them learn these areas. |

MATHEMATICS:
A large focus will be placed on Multiplication and division, along with fractions and decimals. KNOWLEDGE OF MATH FACTS IS ESSENTIAL TO SUCCESS IN MATH!!!!!!!!

WRITING:
A concentration on using complete thoughts to form paragraphs using correct punctuation and grammar. One large writing project will be done each quarter. |

SOCIAL STUDIES:
We will be learning about Ohio, including its history, government, and other regions. We will also spend time learning about the elections in November and the democratic process. A field trip is scheduled in December to the Natural History Museum for a program on Ohio Native Americans.

READING:
We will be reading from many forms of literature including fiction, non fiction, biographies and poetry. The year will be split up into themes that correspond with out texts. One book report will be assigned per theme.

SPELLING:
Each week, students are required to correctly use all of their spelling words in completer sentences and turn them in by THURSDAY. The spelling list will consist of 5 additional words from the week’s reading story. These will be given to the students on a weekly basis. Spelling tests will be given on Fridays.
