| St. Rita Middle School students formed a new club. A number of students have been interested in forming a chess club for some time. Through the efforts of Jarod Dinorog, a fifth grader at our school, the club became a reality this month. Fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students are invited to come play the game on Wednesday afternoon during the X-Period. The meetings are held in the computer lab. Mrs.
Foster and Mrs. Petelin are the co-moderators of the club. Presently only students who know how to play the game are invited to join.
Hopefully, those wishing to learn how will be invited as the club evolves. The students are having a good time learning new strategies from each other and just playing the game. |
