Saint Rita School

The PTU (Parent Teacher Union) is a group of parent volunteers who offer their time and talents to enhance our children’s educational experience at Saint Rita School. The PTU Board is comprised of parents, teachers, and administrators who attend monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of each month to collaborate and make decisions for the betterment of the school. The PTU is the major fundraising arm of the school, helping to fund capital improvements to school facilities, host assemblies, offer supplemental support for classroom materials, field trips, and much MUCH more.

Many hands make light the work, and the PTU welcome all parents to join us for our monthly meetings! This is a wonderful opportunity for you to participate in the school experience with your child(ren)!

The PTU meets in the Art Room on Wednesdays at 7:00pm. 

Students may earn monthly dress down days by supporting Box Tops for Education! Box Tops turn in deadlines happen 3 times per year: September 13, December 6, and March 7. The Dress Down days occur on the following Fridays: September 27, October 25, November 22, December 13, January 31, February 28, March 28, April 11, and May 9. 

PTU Board Positions

President: Schedules, prepares the agenda, and presides over all PTU meetings; works along all committees to ensure effective communications happens within the board.

President-Elect: Aides the President and presides over the PTU meetings in the absence of the President.

Recording Secretary: Records the minutes of the monthly meetings and distributes the minutes to the Communications chair.

Treasurer: Prepares the reconciles the budget; receives all monies; writes and distributes checks; keeps records of all receipts.

Ways and Means: Plans and implements several fundraising activities for the school year.

Communications: Prepares and distributes the monthly PTU newsletter which includes minutes of the monthly meetings.

Welcoming Coordinator: Welcomes new school families; helps families feel comfortable and encouraged throughout the school year; acts as Parent Ambassador liaison with Saint Rita School Admissions for new and prospective families.

Room Parent Coordinator: Selects room parents for classroom activities and supplies necessary documents to them.

Student Programs: Prepares and executes assemblies, pep rallies, and any event that encourages student body unity.

Family Events: Organizes and executes social events for parents and students.

Catholic Schools Week Coordinator: Plans and implements all the activities for Catholic Schools Week in January.

Literacy Event Coordinator: Plans and executes a literacy event for the students and acts as a liaison with the school library for all needs.

Campus Beautification: Plans and prepares ways to keep the grounds and building interiors looking clean, inviting, and welcoming.

Members at Large: Communication liaison between PTU and the parents of the grade represented.

Preschool Liaison: Communication liaison between PTU and the Little Falcon Learning Center with the goal to make all preschool families connected to the school.

Alumni Liaison: Serves as a liaison between the school, parish, and school alumni.

Parish Support Liaison: Serves as a liaison between PTU and parish staff for any need in which PTU can assist.

Box Tops Coordinator: Collects Box Tops from school families and prepares a list of who is eligible for dress down days.

Spirit Wear Coordinator: Works alongside outside vendor to plan several school spirit wear sales throughout the school year.
