Third Grade Teacher

Hello, my name is Maria Smith. I am so excited to be starting a new journey with you all at Saint Rita. I have taught fourth grade at both Solon and Akron Public schools and taught pre-kindergarten prior to in Fairlawn. I grew up in Northeast Ohio and I am a graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School. I attended Kent State University, where I obtained my Bachelors Degree in Early Education and I am currently pursuing my masters in Educational Psychology at my Alma Mater. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else with my life and I know God created me to be a teacher. I find so much joy in teaching and building relationships with students. I live in downtown Cleveland and frequent many Cleveland sporting events. I enjoy cooking, traveling, crafting, skiing and spending time with my favorite people, especially my fiance, Kevin. I look forward to meeting everyone and sharing my passion for Christ and teaching with the Saint Rita family.
